Pathways:  Stepping Stones to Sustainable Landscapes

Creating sustainable landscapes begins with a single step. Together, our individual steps can become a pathway to change. That’s what the MELA movement is made of.  Follow this pathway to sustainability at MELA Conference 2015 which features discussions on partnering with nature, mimicking natural systems for sustainable results and using nature as a guide to create outdoor spaces which are good for plant communities, wildlife, people and the planet.

This year’s Conference keynote speaker is Debra Shore, a Commissioner of the MWRDGC, who opens the conference with a profile of stormwater management in Chicagoland.  Dennis Dreher, Geosyntech Consultants follows Shore with an educational session on best practices for sustainable stormwater management.  Afternoon breakout sessions bring industry leaders together to present innovative approaches to healthy landscapes in the areas of design, landscape management and site evaluation.  There will also be an exhibitor’s are showcasing vendor services and materials.  Jason Fritz from the Cardno Native Plant Nursery will be at the Cardno booth in the exhibitor’s area.  Please introduce yourself to Jason and find out how our native plant nursery can help you with your sustainable landscape project!
